The 6074BE is a four channel USB oscilloscope for a laptop, tablet PC or desktop, with 70MHz bandwidth, 1GSa/s real-time sampling, 64K memory depth and 2mV/div to 10V/div input sensitivity, powered from USB 2.0 with no extra supply. The BE models add more than 80 automotive measurement functions; the BD models add a 1 channel signal generator, the BC is the plain oscilloscope, and the 6254 versions raise bandwidth to 250MHz.
Features and Benefits
- 4 independent channels at 1GSa/s - compare crank, cam, injector and ignition signals, or four points on a circuit board, at once.
- More than 80 automotive tests on BE models - guided ignition, sensor, bus, actuator and start and charge checks.
- 2mV/div to 10V/div sensitivity, up to 10000V/div with a x1000 probe - small sensor signals and high voltages on one unit.
- Edge, pulse, video and alternative triggering - stable display of repetitive and one-off events.
- Over 20 automatic measurements with PASS/FAIL check, dynamic cursor tracking and waveform record and replay.
- FFT spectrum analysis, maths, X-Y display, averaging and persistence - deeper analysis in the PC software.
- USB 2.0 plug and play with no extra power - runs from a laptop or tablet PC in the workshop or on the road.
Applications
- Vehicle diagnosis: ignition, sensors, CAN and LIN bus, injectors, starting and charging (BE models).
- General electronics repair and development on the BC and BD models.
- Teaching and laptop based benches where space is short.

A: It shows sensor, injector and ignition signals as waveforms so you can see dropouts and bad shapes that a multimeter averages out. The 6074BE adds more than 80 guided automotive tests in its software.. Q: How do you use a USB oscilloscope? A: Install the software, connect the unit to a laptop or tablet PC by USB, connect a probe or lead to a channel with its ground on circuit or vehicle ground, then pick a test from the vehicle menu or set the scope manually.. Q: What is the difference between the 6074BE, 6074BC and 6074BD? A: All are 4 channel 70MHz, 1GSa/s units. The BE adds automotive measurement functions, the BD adds a 1 channel signal generator and the BC has neither.. Q: What does the 6254 option change? A: The 6254BE and 6254BD raise the bandwidth to 250MHz; channels, sampling rate and memory depth stay the same as the 6074 versions.. Q: Does it need its own power supply? A: No. It is powered over USB 2.0 and is plug and play on Windows 7 to 11..
