- Will these wraps fit batteries other than the 18650 size?
- These pre-cut wraps measure 72 millimeters long and 29.5 millimeters wide when flat. They are sized specifically for standard 18650 battery cells. You cannot use them on larger battery sizes like 21700, but you can trim them for shorter cells.
- How do I apply these wraps to my batteries?
- Slide your battery into the sleeve, leaving a small, even overhang on both ends. Use a heat gun set between 80°C and 100°C to shrink the PVC wrap tightly. Keep the heat moving constantly to avoid damaging the battery or melting the plastic.
- Do these wraps provide proper electrical insulation to prevent short circuits?
- Yes, these PVC wraps provide excellent insulation with a dielectric strength of about 15 kilovolts per millimeter. They also carry a VW-1 flammability rating to help prevent dangerous electrical shorts. Never use an 18650 battery with a torn wrap, as exposed metal poses a serious safety hazard.
