Features and Benefits
- 8 analogue channels - watch injectors, ignition, cam and crank sensors at the same time.
- More than 80 automotive diagnostic functions - guided tests for ignition, sensors, CAN and LIN bus, starter and charging circuits.
- 12 bit resolution and 10mV/div to 5V/div sensitivity - small sensor signals stay readable.
- 8 channel programmable generator, 0 to 250kHz, LVTTL - simulate crankshaft and camshaft signals on the bench.
- Optional HT201 20:1 attenuators and CC65 or CC650 current clamps - measure higher voltages and currents with the kit options.
- Over 20 automatic measurements, FFT and maths - frequency, duty cycle, rise time and Vrms without manual counting.
- USB powered, plug and play - no extra power supply in the workshop.
Applications
- Ignition primary and secondary diagnosis.
- Sensor checks: air flow meter, camshaft, crankshaft, lambda and throttle position.
- CAN bus and LIN bus signal checks.
- Starter and charging circuit testing on petrol and diesel vehicles.
In the box
1 x 1008C USB oscilloscope, 1 x ignition probe (not included with the 1008A), 4 x crocodile clip leads, 4 x BNC connectors, 1 x USB cable, 1 x software CD, as listed. The kit photos also show a carry case. Kit options add HT201 attenuators, current clamps and probe sets as named.
Note: Keep within 400V (DC+AC peak) on the inputs and use the attenuator or ignition probe for higher voltages. Clip test leads away from fans, belts and hot exhaust parts.

A: It shows sensor, actuator and ignition signals as waveforms so you can see faults a multimeter misses. The 1008C adds more than 80 guided tests for ignition, sensors, bus and charging circuits.. Q: How do you use an oscilloscope on a car? A: Install the software, connect the 1008C to the laptop by USB, pick the test from the vehicle diagnosis menu, then connect the leads or ignition probe to the circuit it names. The waveform and result appear on the laptop.. Q: What is the difference between the 1008A and 1008C? A: The 1008C includes a high voltage ignition probe; the 1008A does not. The oscilloscope itself is the same 8 channel unit.. Q: Can it simulate sensor signals? A: Yes. The built-in 8 channel programmable generator outputs LVTTL signals from 0 to 250kHz and can simulate crankshaft and camshaft signals.. Q: Does it need a separate power supply? A: No. It is powered from the laptop's USB 2.0 port and is plug and play..
