The AUA-C70 and AUA-C50 are rechargeable pocket optical power meters with a built-in 15, 30 or 50mW visual fault locator and RJ45 cable tester, measuring -70 to +10dBm (C70) or -50 to +26dBm (C50) across 10 selectable wavelengths.
An InGaAs detector covers 800 to 1700nm, with standard wavelengths of 850, 980, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577, 1625 and 1650nm. The backlit screen shows dBm and linear power together, at 0.01dBm and 0.1% resolution, and up to 500 readings can be saved and viewed later. Both optical ports sit under a spring cover on a universal 2.5mm interface for SC, FC and ST connectors; LC needs the FC to LC adapter supplied with the "+ FC-LC" options. The red VFL source finds breaks and bends, and the removable network test remote checks the wiring of RJ45 LAN cables against the 8 lights on the meter. The built-in lithium battery charges over USB Type-C.
Features and Benefits
- Two measuring ranges: -70 to +10dBm on the C70 for FTTH and PON levels, -50 to +26dBm on the C50 for higher power links.
- 10 standard wavelengths with wavelength memory: covers 850nm through 1650nm.
- Built-in VFL at 15, 30 or 50mW: find faults without carrying a second tool.
- RJ45 tester with removable remote: check LAN cables on the same job.
- 500 sets of data storage: save readings on site and review them later.
- Backlit display and LED torch: work in dark cabinets and manholes.
- 12.5 x 3.5 x 2.3 cm and 70g, with belt clip and lanyard.
Applications
- Measuring received power at ONTs, splitters and FTTH drops.
- Link loss checks on patch cords and fibre runs.
- Locating breaks and tight bends with the VFL.
- Testing RJ45 LAN cable wiring during network installs.
In the box
- Optical power meter, Type-C charging cable, lanyard, manual, certificate of conformity and packaging box.
- FC to LC adapter with the "+ FC-LC" options.
Note: The VFL emits a laser. Never look into the laser output or a live fibre end, and keep the spring cover closed when not testing.

A: The C70 measures from -70 to +10dBm, suited to low FTTH and PON levels. The C50 measures from -50 to +26dBm for higher power signals. Both have the same VFL, RJ45 tester and 10 wavelengths.. Q: Which wavelengths does this optical power meter cover? A: It has 10 standard wavelengths: 850, 980, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577, 1625 and 1650nm, with an InGaAs detector covering 800 to 1700nm.. Q: Can it save readings? A: Yes. It stores up to 500 sets of readings that you can view later on the meter.. Q: How is the meter charged? A: It has a built-in lithium battery that charges through a USB Type-C port, from a mains adapter, a power bank or a computer.. Q: Does it test LC connectors? A: The 2.5mm ports take SC, FC and ST directly. For LC you need an FC to LC adapter, which is included with the "+ FC-LC" options..
