- What voltage range can this tester detect, and does it work on DC power?
- This pen detects AC voltage from 12V up to 1000V. It is designed specifically for AC electrical systems and will not detect DC voltage in car batteries or electronics.
- How do I use this tester to find a break in an insulated wire?
- Run the pen along the insulated wire while the circuit is live. The LED indicator and audible alarm will stop when you pass the hidden breakpoint.
- Do I need to touch bare wires to see if they are live?
- No, you do not need to make direct contact with any bare wires. This tester detects AC voltage through the insulation to keep you safe from electrical shocks.
