The AUA-M8 is a battery-powered thermal fibre stripping tool (hot jacket remover) that heats and strips the coating from 1 to 48 bare fibres, 1 to 15 bundled fibres or 2 to 24 ribbon fibres in one pass, at up to 160°C.
It heats automatically at power-up and holds a constant temperature. Two modes give eight settings: HEATER mode at 120, 130, 145 or 160°C and SAVE MODE at 110, 120, 130 or 145°C, shown on four indicator lights that also show the battery level. The limit blade has a 20mm edge and strips up to 32mm of coating. A built-in 3500mAh lithium battery charges over USB Type-C and gives about four hours from a full charge, or about 400 strips in a row.
Features and Benefits
- Strips 1 to 48 bare fibres, 1 to 15 bundled fibres, 2 to 24 ribbon fibres or 1 to 12 invisible fibres: one tool for single fibres and ribbons.
- Eight temperature settings in two modes: match the heat to the coating and save battery on lighter work.
- Automatic heating and constant temperature control: ready to use straight after power-up.
- Widening limit blade with 20mm edge: controlled gap so the coating comes off cleanly.
- Cordless with 3500mAh battery and Type-C charging: no mains needed at the splice closure.
- LED work light (double-click the power button) and a spare blade storage slot in the body.
- Compact body of about 13.5 x 4.3 x 3.2 cm and about 230 g, with a carry bag.
Applications
- Stripping ribbon fibre before mass fusion splicing.
- Removing coating from bundled and loose fibres in FTTH and backbone splice closures.
- Cable joint and repair work where several fibres are prepared together.
- Fibre preparation in the workshop or training room.
In the box
- AUA-M8 thermal stripper, USB charging cable, 2 adjusting wrenches, brush, tweezers, carry bag, lanyard, instruction manual, certificate and packing box.
- With the spare blade option: 2 spare blades as well.
Note: The heating area gets hot. Do not touch it while the tool is on, and let it cool before storing it in the bag.

A: Up to 48 bare fibres, 1 to 15 bundled fibres, 2 to 24 ribbon fibres or 1 to 12 invisible fibres in one pass.. Q: What temperature does the thermal stripper reach? A: HEATER mode runs at 120, 130, 145 or 160°C and SAVE MODE at 110, 120, 130 or 145°C, so the maximum is 160°C.. Q: How long does the battery last? A: The built-in 3500mAh lithium battery gives about four hours from a full charge, or about 400 strips in a row, and charges over USB Type-C.. Q: How much coating does it strip in one go? A: It strips up to 32mm of coating, and the limit blade edge is 20mm wide.. Q: Is a thermal stripper useful before fusion splicing ribbon fibre? A: Yes. It removes the coating from a whole ribbon of 2 to 24 fibres at once, which is the step before cleaving and mass fusion splicing..
