The CFS-3 is a three-port fibre stripping tool that takes a fibre optic patch cord from its 2 to 3 mm outer jacket, through the 900um tight buffer, down to 125um bare fibre with one pair of pliers.
Each port is cut for one layer: the large port strips the 2 to 3 mm outer protective jacket, the middle port strips the 900um white buffer down to 250um, and the small port strips the 250um coating down to 125um. The jaws are tool steel with a polished, blackened finish, and the bite can be fine-tuned with an Allen key on the adjusting screw (clockwise opens the aperture, counter-clockwise closes it), so you can set it to your own fibre and keep it there.
Features and Benefits
- Three stripping ports in one tool: jacket, buffer and coating come off without changing tools.
- Adjustable bite: turn the adjusting screw with an Allen key to match the fibre you work with.
- Tool steel jaws, polished and blackened: wear and corrosion resistance for daily field use.
- Return spring: the jaws reopen on their own for quick one-handed work.
- Opening and closing lock buckle: keeps the jaws shut in the tool bag and prevents accidental injury.
- Anti-skid yellow handles printed FIBEROPTIC STRIPPER CFS-3: easy to find and to grip.
- Compact and light: 16.5 x 6.8 cm and 130 g.
Applications
- FTTH drop and patch cord termination.
- Preparing fibres for fusion splicing or field connectors.
- Stripping pigtails in splice closures and patch panels.
- Fibre training and workshop practice.
In the box
- 1 x CFS-3 three-port fibre stripper in a printed retail box (2 x with the 2 piece option).
Note: Strip in short steps and keep the fibre straight in the port. Bare fibre offcuts are sharp and hard to see, so collect them in a fibre waste container.

Q: What sizes of fibre does the CFS-3 strip? A: The large port takes the 2 to 3 mm outer jacket, the middle port strips 900um buffer down to 250um, and the small port strips the 250um coating down to 125um.. Q: What is a fibre optic cable made of, and which layers does this tool remove? A: A typical patch cord has a 2 to 3 mm outer jacket, a 900um tight buffer and a 250um coating over the 125um fibre. The CFS-3 has one port for each of those layers.. Q: How do you adjust the bite on the CFS-3? A: Turn the adjusting screw with an Allen key: clockwise increases the aperture and counter-clockwise reduces it.. Q: Can the stripper be locked closed? A: Yes. An opening and closing lock buckle near the pivot holds the jaws shut for storage and opens again with a push.. Q: How big and heavy is the CFS-3? A: It measures 16.5 x 6.8 cm and weighs 130 g, or about 140 g in its box..
