What types of cables and connectors can I test with this device?
This tool tests both unshielded (UTP) and shielded (STP) twisted pair cables. It features dedicated ports for RJ45 network cables and RJ11 telephone lines. You can easily check straight-through and crossover wiring configurations.
Does this cable tester come with a battery and carrying case?
The package includes the main tester unit, the remote unit, and an instruction manual. It doesn't come with a battery, so you'll need to buy a 9V PP3 battery separately. A carrying case isn't included.
Can this tester measure cable length or find the exact location of a break?
No, this is a basic continuity tester that maps pin connections using LED lights. It can test cables up to 100 meters long but won't measure physical distance. For those advanced features, you'll need a different type of testing tool.
