- No, this tester only detects AC voltages from 90V up to 1000V. It will not detect low-voltage systems like 12V or 24V doorbells and thermostats. For your safety, only use it within this specified range.
- How safe is this voltage tester to use on live home electrical panels?
- This tester is very safe because it features a non-contact design and a CAT III 1000V rating. You can check for live electricity without touching any bare wires. The durable ABS plastic housing provides excellent insulation.
- Does this voltage tester pen come with the batteries needed to run it?
- No, you need to purchase two AAA batteries separately since they are not included. These batteries will power the pen for up to six hours of continuous troubleshooting. The built-in LED light and audible alert will show you when it is running.
