Can I use this tester on both internet and telephone cables?
Yes, this kit is fully compatible with RJ45 network cables and RJ11 telephone lines. You can use it to verify wiring order, check for shorts, and trace lines. The included alligator clip adapters also let you connect to bare wires.
Does this kit come with the batteries and adapter clips needed to start testing?
The kit includes the main tester, a remote unit, and RJ45 and RJ11 alligator clip adapters. You will need to buy a 9V PP3 battery separately to power the units. Everything else you need for tracing and testing is in the box.
How long of a cable run can this device actually test and trace?
This tester works on cable runs up to 300 meters long. It is perfect for tracing wires through walls and ceilings in homes or offices. The adjustable sensitivity probe helps you pinpoint the signal even at longer distances.
