- This pen tests AC voltages between 100V and 500V at 50/60 Hz. It isn't designed for low-voltage DC applications like automotive circuits. The tool uses a built-in neon lamp to give you a clear visual signal when it detects live AC power.
- How safe is this screwdriver tester, and do I need batteries for the safety features to work?
- You don't need batteries because this circuit tester is entirely self-powered. The body uses insulated ABS plastic and carries a CAT III safety rating up to 500V. This insulation protects you from electrical shock while you verify live wires.
- What are the measurements of the screwdriver tip and the overall tool?
- The hardened steel alloy tip is a slotted flathead style measuring 3 mm wide. The entire tool is 140 mm long with a body diameter of 15 mm. It weighs just 25 grams, so it easily fits into a standard shirt pocket.
