The 1014D is a two channel benchtop digital oscilloscope and signal generator in one case, with 100MHz* analogue bandwidth per channel, 1GSa/s real-time sampling and a 7 inch 800 x 480 colour screen. The built-in DDS generator outputs 14 standard waveforms plus a capture output that replays part of a measured signal, so one instrument covers both stimulus and measurement on the bench.
Features and Benefits
- 2 channels at 100MHz* and 1GSa/s - compare input and output, or two related signals, at the same time (5MHz with the 1X probe, 100MHz with the 10X probe).
- DDS generator with 14 standard waveforms and 1Hz frequency steps - feed a known signal into a circuit without a second instrument; sine reaches 10MHz and the other standard signals 2MHz.
- Capture output storing up to 1000 custom signals - cut part or all of a measured waveform and send it back out of the GEN socket.
- Input protection up to 400V continuous - the inputs tolerate 400V even if the probe was not switched to 10X.
- One-button AUTO, cursors and 12 automatic parameters - Vpp, Vrms, Vavg, frequency, period and duty readings without counting grid divisions.
- 1GB internal storage for 1000 screenshots and 1000 waveform sets - save with one press and export to a PC over USB.
- FFT, X-Y (Lissajous) and roll mode - check harmonics, phase and slow level changes.
Applications
- Power supply, inverter, PWM driver and switching circuit repair.
- Automotive signals such as ignition, captured with the single trigger mode.
- Amplifier and filter testing using the generator and both channels together.
- Product development, teaching and electronics hobby work.

A: It feeds a known test signal into a circuit so you can see how the circuit responds. On the 1014D the generator outputs 14 standard waveforms such as sine, square and triangle from the GEN socket while the two scope channels measure the result.. Q: How do you find frequency on this oscilloscope? A: Press AUTO for a stable trace and read frequency and period from the automatic parameters on the right of the screen. For a noisy signal, place the cursors on one cycle and the frequency is shown directly.. Q: What does an oscilloscope measure? A: Voltage against time. The 1014D shows the waveform on two channels and reads Vpp, Vmax, Vmin, Vavg, Vrms, frequency, period, duty cycle and pulse widths, with an FFT view for harmonics.. Q: What is the time base of an oscilloscope? A: It is the horizontal scale, the time per grid division. The 1014D runs from 10ns/div to 50s/div, and roll mode lets you watch slow level changes.. Q: How much voltage can the inputs take? A: The listing gives 40V with the probe on 1X and 400V on 10X. The inputs tolerate up to 400V continuous voltage, so a probe accidentally left on 1X does not damage the front end..
