- What voltage range can this tester pen actually detect?
- This pen detects both AC and DC voltages ranging from 12V up to 250V. It works on standard electrical frequencies between 50 and 500 Hz. You should not use it for high-voltage industrial systems that exceed 250V.
- Is it safe to use this tool on live electrical outlets?
- Yes, it is safe because of its capacitive non-contact sensing design and double insulation. It carries an IEC 61010-1 CAT II safety rating. You can quickly check for live wires without making direct metal contact with the circuit.
- What kind of batteries does this tester require and how do I maintain it?
- The tool runs on two LR41 button cell batteries, which keep it on standby for about a year. Store the pen in a dry place between -10°C and 50°C. Keep the hardened steel screwdriver tips clean to prevent rust.
