- What voltage range can this pen detect, and does it work on DC batteries?
- This tester detects AC voltage from 90V up to 1000V at 50/60 Hz frequencies. It does not work on DC power like car batteries or standard household AA batteries. You can only use it to test alternating current systems.
- Is this tester safe to use on live electrical panels?
- Yes, this pen has a CAT III 1000V safety rating for testing household circuits. The non-contact design uses capacitive sensing to detect live voltage without touching bare wires. This keeps you safe from accidental electrical shocks while troubleshooting.
- How do I use this tester to check if an outlet has power?
