How does desoldering braid remove solder from a board?
You lay the copper braid over the solder joint and press a hot iron on top. The braid wicks up the molten solder through capillary action, leaving the pad clean. It's handy for PCB rework and pulling solder off pads and leads.
Which width should I pick for my work?
It comes in 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm widths. Narrower braid suits fine-pitch pads and small leads, while wider braid clears bigger joints and ground planes faster. Length options of 8m and 15m let you stock up for longer jobs.
Do I need flux or special tools to use this?
The braid already has rosin-based, non-corrosive flux built in, so you just need a soldering iron. Set the iron in the 250 to 400C range to match your solder alloy. Extra flux can speed things up on stubborn or oxidized joints.
