Questions about this product
- What is desoldering wick actually used for?
- It lifts unwanted solder off circuit boards. You lay the braid over a joint, heat it, and the copper soaks up the molten solder. This wick handles fine-pitch components, BGA rework, and general PCB repair.
- Is the 1.5mm width good for small components?
- Yes. The 1.5mm braid is narrow enough for fine-pitch parts and tight pad spacing. The spool is 1.5m long, so you get plenty of fresh braid as you trim away used sections.
- How should I store the wick so it keeps working?
- Keep it sealed and dry between 10 and 25 degrees C, at 30 to 70 percent humidity. The flux stays effective for about 24 months unopened. Old or oxidized braid absorbs solder slowly, so cut back to clean copper if it stops wicking.
