- What size solder joints is this 2.5mm wick best suited for?
- The 2.5mm width is ideal for cleaning small to medium solder pads on circuit boards. Each of the ten individual rolls gives you 1.5 meters of braid, totaling 15 meters of usable wick. This size works great for typical phone repairs, IC chips, and BGA packages.
- Is this solder braid pre-fluxed, and what is it made of?
- Yes, this wick is made from 99.9% pure, oxygen-free copper with a fine weave pattern. It features a pre-applied, rosin-based no-clean flux that helps pull molten solder off your board quickly. You do not need to apply extra flux to get a clean pull.
- How should I store the unused spools, and do they have an expiration date?
- Keep your unused rolls in their original packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C. Make sure the humidity stays between 30% and 70% RH to prevent the copper from oxidizing. Unopened spools have a shelf life of up to 24 months.
