Questions about this product

Which wire diameter should I pick?
It comes in 0.5 mm up to 2.0 mm. Use 0.5 to 0.8 mm for fine PCB and small component work. Step up to 1.5 or 2.0 mm for thicker wires and larger electrical joints. The 450 g spool lasts a long time either way.
What temperature does this solder melt at?
The 63/37 tin-lead alloy is eutectic, so it melts and sets at one point, 183 C. A typical iron tip runs around 190 to 250 C for clean flow. The single melt point helps you avoid cold, grainy joints.
Do I need to clean the flux off after soldering?
This uses a rosin core flux and the residue is non-corrosive and usually non-conductive. For most electronics you can leave it. If you want a clean look, wipe it with isopropyl alcohol after the joint cools.
