- How do I choose the right wire diameter and reel size for my project?
- We offer 0.6mm, 0.8mm, and 1.0mm diameters in reels from 20g to 100g. Choose the thinner 0.6mm wire for delicate surface-mount components on your boards. The thicker 1.0mm wire works best for larger solder joints and heavy terminal connections.
- What temperature should I set my soldering iron to for this wire?
- This solder wire has a melting point between 183 and 215 degrees Celsius. We recommend setting your soldering iron tip temperature between 300 and 380 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in this range ensure the rosin core activates properly to clean your joint.
- Do I need to clean off the flux residue after I finish soldering?
- This wire uses a non-corrosive, no-clean rosin flux that leaves a transparent residue. You can safely leave the residue on your circuit board for most electronics projects. Cleaning is entirely optional, so you save extra steps during your assembly process.
