- What is this spot welder actually for?
- It's built for assembling and repairing battery packs, like 18650 cells. The 1200A output welds nickel strip from 0.1mm up to 0.5mm thick. The double pulse function helps lay down strong, consistent welds.
- How thick a nickel strip can it weld?
- It handles nickel strip from 0.1mm to 0.5mm. For thicker strip you'd raise the energy setting, since both energy output and pulse duration are adjustable. Going past 0.5mm is outside what this unit is rated for.
- How is it powered and charged?
- It runs off a built-in 5000mAh lithium polymer battery, so no mains cord during welding. You recharge it over USB-C at 5V and 2A. The OLED display lets you set energy and pulse before each weld.
