Refractometer Brix 0-32% | 0-28% Salinity | ATC Handheld

This handheld refractometer reads sugar on a 0 to 32% Brix scale and salt on a 0 to 28% salinity scale, side by side in one eyepiece, with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) built in. Put a few drops of liquid on the prism, hold it up to the light and read the blue and white boundary against the scale. There is no battery and no cable, so it works anywhere you have a light source. Features and benefits: - Dual scale, 0 to 32% Brix and 0 to 28% salinity - read both on the one instrument with no unit switching - Automatic temperature compensation - corrects for changes in ambient temperature so repeat readings stay consistent - Measurement accuracy of 0.2% - fine enough for brewing, food and brine checks at the bench - Rubber grip handle and focus adjustment on the eyepiece - steady to hold and easy to bring the scale into focus - Adjusting screw with the screwdriver supplied - set the instrument to zero on distilled water before testing - Compact 160 x 40mm body weighing 140g - small enough for a coat pocket or a tool bag Applications: - Checking sugar content of fruit juice, wort and beer during brewing - Testing brine strength for pickling and curing - Teaching refractometry and solution concentration in school and college labs - Spot checks of sugar or salt solutions in food and workshop settings In the box: 1 x refractometer, 1 x cleaning cloth, 1 x screwdriver, 1 x dropper and 1 x instruction manual. A storage case is shown in the product images and is listed under the with box option. Note: Zero the scale on distilled water before each session, wait about 30 seconds for the reading to settle, and wipe the prism clean with a soft cloth after use. This is an optical instrument, so handle the prism and cover plate gently.
