Questions about this product
- What is the maximum thickness of nickel this spot welder can handle?
- This portable welder works best on nickel sheets between 0.1 mm and 0.2 mm thick. You can adjust the power across 80 different gear settings to match your specific material thickness. Trying to weld metals thicker than 0.2 mm will not produce a reliable bond.
- What types of metals and batteries can I weld with this tool?
- It is designed specifically for welding nickel-plated steel and pure nickel strips to battery terminals. This makes it ideal for building custom lithium-ion battery packs for DIY electronics. It will not work on other metals like copper or aluminum.
- What safety features are built into this portable welder to prevent overheating?
- The welder includes built-in over-temperature, overcurrent, and low voltage protections to keep you safe. If the unit gets too hot during a project, it shuts down automatically to prevent damage. Always let the copper welding pens cool down if they start feeling warm.
