- What is this spot welder built for?
- It's made for building battery packs by welding nickel strip onto cells. The dual super capacitors dump a fast, strong pulse for a clean weld. It suits 18650, 21700, and 32140 cell types.
- How thick a nickel strip can it weld?
- It welds nickel strip from 0.1 mm up to 0.4 mm thick, pushing about 2500A at 6V. The adjustable pulse and energy settings let you tune the weld to the strip. Thicker strip past 0.4 mm is beyond what it's rated to do reliably.
- How do I power it and how long to charge?
- It runs from a 100 to 240V AC supply, so it works on standard wall power. The super capacitors charge in roughly 15 to 30 minutes before you weld. A digital display and built-in fan help you set the energy and keep it cool.
