What is this desoldering braid used for?
This wick helps you clean up excess solder from circuit boards and electronic components. It's perfect for correcting mistakes or removing old components during repairs. You just place it over the solder and heat it with your soldering iron.
How much wick do I get, and how do I choose the right width?
Each spool comes with 1.5 meters of braid, which provides plenty of material for multiple repair jobs. We offer multiple width options so you can match the wick to your specific solder pad sizes. A closer match prevents accidental damage to nearby components on crowded boards.
Is this wick made of plain copper, or does it contain flux?
This desoldering braid is made of copper and comes pre-treated with flux. The flux is essential because it helps draw the molten solder onto the braid quickly and cleanly. It prevents you from overheating and damaging delicate components.
