- Will this wick work with both leaded and lead-free solders?
- Yes, this desoldering braid works with both leaded and lead-free solders. You can use it with any standard soldering iron to clean up joints. Just ensure your iron reaches the flux activation temperature between 150 and 200 °C.
- What size joint is this 2.0mm wick best suited for?
- This 2.0mm wide wick is ideal for medium-sized joints and standard circuit board components. It is 0.3mm thick and comes on a 1.5-meter spool. This length gives you plenty of material for multiple repair jobs.
- Does this desoldering braid have built-in flux, or do I need to add my own?
- This wick is made of finely woven, oxygen-free copper strands pre-coated with a rosin-based flux. The non-corrosive flux helps draw solder quickly into the braid. You do not need to add extra flux for normal repairs.
