How do I choose the right width of desoldering braid for my project?
We offer six widths from 1.5mm to 4.0mm to match your specific task. Pick a width that closely fits the size of the solder joint you are clearing. If the braid is too wide, it draws away too much heat from your soldering iron.
Is this desoldering wick coated with flux, or do I need to add my own?
This braid comes pre-impregnated with a non-corrosive, rosin-based flux. The flux helps the molten solder flow quickly and smoothly into the copper weave. You do not need to add extra flux for standard repairs.
What is the main purpose of this copper desoldering braid?
You use this braid to remove unwanted solder from printed circuit boards and electronic components. It is perfect for correcting soldering errors, clearing solder bridges, or prepping a board for new parts. Just press the braid onto the joint with a hot iron to wick the solder away.
