- What can this TDR cable tester actually check?
- It finds cable length and fault location using TDR measurement, so you can pinpoint a break in the line. It also verifies PoE presence and voltage, and detects miswires, split pairs, and shorts. That covers most network and coax troubleshooting jobs.
- Which cables and standards does it support?
- It works with Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and Cat7 over RJ45, plus coaxial lines. PoE detection follows the IEEE 802.3af/at standards. So it suits both network and coax installs.
- What's in the kit?
- You get the main tester with an LCD display and a separate remote unit for end-to-end checks. It runs on batteries, using 4 AA cells in the main unit and 1 in the remote. That remote lets you trace and verify a run from both ends.
