- Which network cables and standards does this tester support?
- It tests RJ45 and UTP cables across Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and Cat7. It also checks PoE to the IEEE 802.3af/at standards. That covers most office and home network wiring you'll run into.
- What can I diagnose with this tester?
- It maps wiring to catch opens, shorts, crossed pairs, and split pairs, so you can confirm a cable is built right. It also measures length up to 300 meters and traces cables with a tone generator. The PoE check confirms power is reaching your device.
- Does it come with everything I need to start testing?
- Yes, the kit includes the main tester and a remote unit for checking cables end to end. It runs on a 9V battery, which isn't included, so grab one before you start. The LCD shows results as you test.
