- What can this tester actually do?
- It measures cable length, checks continuity, and detects PoE on the line. It also pings devices and scans IP addresses for connectivity issues. A built-in cable tracker and LED light round it out.
- How long a cable can it measure, and how accurate is it?
- It measures Ethernet runs up to 300 m with about ±2 m accuracy. For continuity it flags open, short, or crossed wires. PoE detection follows the IEEE 802.3af/at standards.
- What batteries does it need?
- The main unit runs on 2 AAA batteries. The cable tracker uses a separate 9V battery. It works in 0°C to 40°C, so it's fine for most offices and data centers.
