- Does this tester work with both Ethernet and phone cables?
- Yes. It handles RJ45 Ethernet and RJ11 telephone connectors, so you can check network and phone lines with one unit. That covers most low-voltage cabling on a typical install.
- Can it find exactly where a cable is broken?
- Yes. The TDR function measures cable length and pinpoints fault distance, with a range up to 600m. It also wiremaps for opens, shorts, crossed pairs, and split pairs.
- What comes in the UT685B kit?
- You get the main tester unit with an LCD and a separate remote unit for wiremapping a run. Both are battery powered. The remote sits at the far end while you read results at the main unit.
