Proximity Sensor | NPN/PNP NO/NC Switching | 1-15mm Metal Sensing

This blue sensor is an industrial switch. It uses induction to find metal without touching it. It's for automated systems where you need to confirm a metal part is present. You can set the detection d...

Questions about this product
- What do NO (Normally Open) and NC (Normally Closed) mean?
- NO means the switch's output is off until a metal object enters its sensing field, at which point it turns on. NC is the opposite; the output is on by default and turns off when a metal object is detected.
- How do these sensors mount? What are the thread sizes?
- These sensors have a threaded copper body for easy mounting through a panel or bracket. We stock them in several common metric thread sizes, including M12, M18, and M30, so you can choose the right fit for your machinery.
- What would I use an inductive proximity sensor for?
- They're most often used for non-contact position sensing in automated machinery. Common uses include detecting if a machine guard is closed, counting metal parts on a conveyor belt, or checking the position of a cylinder.
