- Yes, you can. NPN sensors are widely used with PLCs that have 'sinking' inputs, which is a common setup in industrial controls. Just check that your PLC's input card is set up for NPN-type signals.
- What's the difference between the Normally Open and Normally Closed options?
- A Normally Open (NO) switch completes the circuit and sends a signal only when it detects an object. A Normally Closed (NC) switch does the opposite; it maintains a signal that gets interrupted when an object is detected.
- How long is the cable and what are the basic wiring connections?
- This mini sensor includes a 1-metre long, 3-wire cable. As it's an NPN model, you'll connect the brown wire to positive, the blue wire to negative (ground), and the black wire is your output signal to your controller.
