- This is an inductive proximity sensor, so it's designed specifically to detect ferrous metals like iron and steel. It won't react to non-metallic objects like plastic or wood, or non-ferrous metals like aluminium.

- This sensor has a standard M18 threaded body, meaning an 18mm diameter, and is 68mm long. It connects using a 4-pin M12 plug, not flying leads, which makes for a quick and secure installation.
