M12 Inductive Proximity Sensor | Long Range | Metal Detection

This M12 long-distance inductive sensor is for jobs needing more space between the sensor and what it's detecting. It's an extended range sensor that reliably finds metal objects from further away. Th...

Questions about this product
- What sort of jobs are these long distance M12 sensors used for?
- They're useful when you need more clearance between the sensor and the target object. The 8mm range on the non-flush model is ideal for detecting parts that might have inconsistent positioning on a conveyor or in a jig.
- What's the difference between the 'NO' and 'NC' options?
- 'NO' stands for Normally Open, which means the circuit is off until a metal object is detected. 'NC' is Normally Closed, so the circuit is on by default and switches off when an object is detected. Your choice depends on what your control system needs as its default state.
- How do I choose between the flush and non-flush mounting styles?
- The flush M12 sensor offers a 4mm range and can be embedded level with the surrounding metal. If you need a longer 8mm range, choose the non-flush version, but remember it must protrude from the mounting surface to work correctly.
