- What materials is this PCD cutter meant to machine?
- It's made for abrasive non-ferrous materials like graphite, silicon carbide, and high-silicon aluminum. The polycrystalline diamond edge handles those without wearing down fast. It's not meant for steel or other ferrous metals, where diamond tools break down.
- Why pick PCD over a regular carbide end mill?
- On abrasive materials like graphite and high-silicon aluminum, carbide dulls quickly and loses its finish. The diamond edge here resists that wear, so it holds size and surface quality much longer. That means fewer tool changes and a high-gloss finish straight off the machine.
- What cutter and shank sizes are available?
- Cutting diameters come in 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12mm, with the shank matching at 6mm and up. Cutting length runs about 15 to 30mm and overall length about 60 to 100mm. You can also choose a single or double flute version for your chip clearance needs.
