- What voltage range can this tester detect, and does it work on DC current?
- This tester detects AC voltages from 12V up to 1000V at 50/60 Hz. It is designed specifically for AC circuits and will not detect DC voltage in car batteries or electronics.
- How do I use this tool to find a break in a wire?
- Move the tip along the insulated wire while the circuit is live. The visual and audible indicators will stop signaling once you pass the breakpoint where the current ends.
- Is this tester safe to use on high-voltage home electrical panels?
- Yes, this detector has a CAT III 1000V safety rating and meets EN 61010-1 standards. Because it is non-contact, you can safely check for live wires without touching bare copper.
