- What cable types can this tester check?
- It handles RJ45 network cables, RJ11 phone lines, and BNC coax from one unit. On top of basic continuity it runs PoE and PING tests. That covers most low-voltage cabling you'd find in an office or industrial setup.
- Can this tester find faults inside a cable?
- Yes. It checks for opens, shorts, crossed pairs, and split pairs, and shows a pin-to-pin wire map. Crosstalk testing flags signal interference inside the cable. So it tells you not just if a cable fails, but how it's miswired.
- Does it come with a remote unit for tracing cables?
- Yes. It ships with a remote unit and patch cables, so you can test a run end to end across a building. The wire tracking function helps you find one cable inside a bundle. Note the 9V battery isn't included, so grab one to start.
