- How do I install this tachometer on my engine?
- You wrap the signal wire around the spark plug wire and clip it on. There's no internal wiring or splicing needed. It reads RPM inductively, so it never touches the ignition circuit directly.
- Will this work on my chainsaw or generator?
- Yes. It's made for small gas engines and works on chainsaws, lawnmowers, generators, motorcycles, and ATVs. Any engine with an accessible spark plug wire should pick up a signal fine.
- Does it track engine hours as well as RPM?
- It does both. The unit shows live engine speed and logs total run time as an hour meter. That makes it handy for tracking service intervals on small engines.
