- It reads noise from 30 to 130 dB using A-weighting, the standard that matches how people hear sound. It's handy for environmental noise checks, workplace safety spot checks, and testing how loud equipment runs. The digital display shows the reading right away.
- How accurate is this meter and how fast does it respond?
- Accuracy is around ±1.5 dB at 1 kHz with 0.1 dB resolution. You can pick FAST (125 ms) or SLOW (1 s) time weighting depending on the noise. It covers 31.5 Hz to 8 kHz, which is fine for general use but not for precision lab work.
- What powers it and how long does the battery last?
- It runs on a single 9V battery, like a 6F22 type. Expect roughly 30 hours from an alkaline cell. It also has data hold and auto power-off after about 15 minutes idle to save the battery.
