- Will this sensor work on a metal tank?
- No, this is a capacitive sensor designed specifically for non-metallic containers. It works on materials like plastic, glass, or ceramic, but it cannot detect liquid levels through metal walls.
- What's the difference between the NPN, PNP, and V output models?
- The model you choose depends on what you're connecting it to. The XKC-Y25-V gives a simple high/low voltage signal, while the NPN and PNP models are transistor outputs for connecting to PLCs or microcontrollers. Check your controller's input requirements to see if it needs an NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) sensor.
- How is this sensor installed on the container?
- It's a non-contact sensor, so it simply sticks to the outside of your tank at the level you want to detect. You can use a strong adhesive or a custom bracket to hold it firmly in place against the tank wall. No drilling or contact with the liquid is needed.
