- How deep and how far can it trace a cable?
- It locates buried cable down to about 2 meters deep and along runs up to 1000 meters. The anti-interference design helps keep readings clean in electrically noisy areas. Depth accuracy drops in very wet soil or near heavy metal, so verify before you dig.
- Does it come with both a transmitter and receiver?
- Yes, it's a two-part kit with a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends a 9 kHz signal down the cable, and you sweep the receiver above ground to follow it. The receiver has adjustable sensitivity to fine-tune the trace.
- What kinds of buried lines can I find with it?
- It's built to trace underground network cables and electrical wires. People also use it to find breaks in irrigation lines and short circuits in outdoor lighting. The display shows signal strength so you can pinpoint a fault location.
