- What types of network cables and fiber connectors can I test with this device?
- You can test standard RJ45 Ethernet cables and RJ11 telephone lines with this kit. For fiber optics, the universal 2.5mm connector works with FC, SC, and ST connection types. It supports optical power wavelengths ranging from 850 nm up to 1650 nm.
- How long of a cable can I trace, and what are the fiber measurement limits?
- The cable tester successfully tracks and tests copper lines up to approximately 300 meters long. Its optical power meter reads signals between -70 and +10 dBm. The integrated visual fault locator uses a 1 mW laser to spot fiber damage.
- Does this cable testing kit come with the batteries needed to start working?
- The kit doesn't come with batteries, so you must supply your own. You will need three AAA batteries for the main tester unit. The remote unit runs on a single 9V battery.
