- What tools do I need to shrink this tubing, and what temperature should I use?
- You will need a heat gun or a similar heat source to apply this tubing. The material starts shrinking at 80°C, so standard hair dryers might not get hot enough. Apply heat evenly around the pack to get a snug, wrinkle-free fit.
- How do I know which flat width size to buy for my battery pack?
- To find the right size, calculate the perimeter of your battery pack and divide it by two. Since this tubing has a 2:1 shrink ratio, choose a flat width slightly larger than your calculated half-perimeter. Our available widths range from 130mm to 500mm to fit various multi-cell battery layouts.
- Can this heat shrink handle high temperatures and voltages in custom battery builds?
- Yes, this PVC wrap safely operates in temperatures ranging from -55°C up to +105°C. It carries a rated voltage of 300V and offers high dielectric strength to prevent short circuits. Just ensure your battery pack does not exceed these limits during heavy discharge.
