Q: What network interface configuration does this rack unit have? A: The front panel holds six gigabit Ethernet ports and two 10G SFP+ cages for fiber or DAC cables. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-13700 desktop-class processor with 16 cores.. Q: How well does this machine hold up in a standard server rack? A: It uses a 1U steel chassis that fits standard 19-inch server cabinets and includes mount ears. Dual ball-bearing internal fans provide direct airflow over the CPU heatsink to prevent throttling.. Q: Is this system compatible with standard open-source routing software? A: Yes, it boots directly from USB to run pfSense, OPNsense, VyOS, or Linux network stacks. The Intel network cards have native driver support in FreeBSD and modern Linux kernels.. Q: What does the warranty cover for this rackmount firewall? A: You get a full one-year warranty on the chassis, motherboard, and internal power supply. The support team handles board-level troubleshooting and sends replacements for defective hardware.. Q: Does this offer better throughput than a standard firewall appliance mini pc? A: Yes, standard mini units top out at 2.5GbE, while this rack system provides dual 10G SFP+ lanes for heavy inter-VLAN routing. The desktop i7-13700 CPU also handles multi-gigabit IDS/IPS packet inspection without slowing down your connection..
