- What does this 4-in-1 fiber and network tester actually do?
- It combines an optical power meter, a visual fault locator, a network cable tester, and noise-free LAN line tracking. You can measure fiber signal strength, find breaks and bends, check RJ45 wiring, and trace specific cables in a bundle. It is built for installing and troubleshooting fiber and LAN networks.
- Which fiber types and connectors does it work with?
- The power meter reads single-mode and multi-mode fiber across standard telecom wavelengths from 850nm to 1625nm. The optical port uses a universal 2.5mm interface, so SC, FC, and ST connectors fit. Cable testing runs over RJ45 for Ethernet and LAN lines.
- What is the measurement range and how far does the fault locator reach?
- Optical power measurement runs from -70 to +10 dBm with plus or minus 0.2 dB accuracy. The visual fault locator outputs a 650nm red laser at 10mW in continuous or pulsed mode. It runs about 100 hours on AAA batteries in power meter use.
