- What's this non-invasive sensor used for?
- It's for measuring AC current without having to cut or strip any wires. You just clip the split core around a single live cable to get a reading, which is handy for monitoring AC motors, lighting circuits, or air compressors.
- What is the difference between the 30A, 50A and 100A versions?
- The main difference is the maximum current they are rated to measure, for example the 100A version is for circuits up to 100 amps. All models in this range have the same non-invasive split core design and provide an output signal for measurement.
- How strong is the hinge on this? Will it break after repeated use?
- The mechanical strength is rated for a minimum of 1,000 opening and closing cycles without failure. The core is made from ferrite and the housing has a flame retardant characteristic in line with UL94-V0 standards.
