- What does this wire tracker do?
- It traces network and phone cables inside walls or bundles using a transmitter and receiver pair. It also tests for continuity, opens, shorts, and crossed wires. LED indicators show you each result clearly.
- What cable types can I test with it?
- It handles RJ45 network cables and RJ11 phone lines through its transmitter ports. The receiver uses an inductive probe to follow the tone. You can trace runs up to about 300 meters.
- What comes in the kit and how is it powered?
- You get both the transmitter and the receiver, so it's a complete tracing set out of the box. Each unit runs on a 9V battery. The receiver also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack for listening to the tone.
