- How many arms and clips come with this third hand?
- It comes with four flexible arms, each fitted with a stainless steel alligator clip. The arms are 300mm long aluminum alloy and bend to hold parts where you want them. There's also a PCB holder to keep circuit boards steady.
- What surface does the magnetic base stick to?
- The base is steel and grips any ferrous, magnetic surface like a steel workbench top. It measures 200 by 145mm and 10mm thick for a stable footing. Each arm holds with roughly 1kg of magnetic force so it won't drift mid-job.
- Is this only for soldering, or other repair work too?
- Soldering and circuit board assembly are the main jobs, since it frees both hands for the iron. The alligator clips also grip wires and small parts well. Plenty of people use it for jewelry making and small repairs too.
