Questions about this product
- How do I choose the right size tubing for my wires?
- This tubing has a 2:1 shrink ratio, meaning it shrinks to half its original diameter. Select a size larger than your wire bundle that can still shrink tightly around it. We offer nominal sizes from 1 mm up to 50 mm to fit most projects.
- What temperature do I need to use to shrink this tubing?
- You need to apply heat of at least 70°C to start the shrinking process. For a complete and tight seal, the tubing requires a full recovery temperature of 110°C. A standard heat gun works best to apply even heat around the wire.
- Can I use this heat shrink tubing for high-temperature or outdoor electrical repairs?
- This polyolefin tubing safely operates in temperatures from -55°C up to 125°C. It resists common chemicals and oils while providing flame retardancy for tough environments. However, it only has moderate UV resistance, so limit its exposure to direct, long-term sunlight.
