- This tubing starts with an inside diameter of 6.0 mm and shrinks down to 1.5 mm. It is perfect for covering irregular shapes or connectors because of this wide 4:1 shrink ratio. Just ensure your wires or splices fall within this measurement range for a tight fit.
- What is the best way to shrink this tubing and activate the adhesive?
- You need to apply heat starting at 70°C, but it requires 125°C for a complete shrink. Use a heat gun to evenly warm the polyolefin material. As it shrinks, you will see the inner thermoplastic adhesive melt and flow to seal the connection.
- Can I use this heat shrink tubing in wet or outdoor environments?
- Yes, this tubing is highly resistant to water absorption and withstands temperatures from -55°C to 125°C. The inner adhesive lining melts to create a completely waterproof and corrosion-resistant barrier. It also resists UV damage and common automotive fluids.
